Solar chargers

Solar chargers use solar panels to gather energy from the sun. The energy is gathered through modules of photovoltaic solar cells. The solar power is then used to charge various devices, from batteries to laptops. Hikers, campers, and mountaineers will appreciate the ability to power options while away from outlets. Chargers also provide a great resource for those trying to save energy.

In direct sunlight, many appliances can be directly powered by solar chargers. Storing energy from the sun into batteries for later use is another option. Battery options include standard AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V types. Chargers for 12V lead-acid batteries and Lithium-ion batteries, commonly used for cameras, iPods, cell phones and PDAs, are available as well.

Solar chargers are an excellent way to reduce the demands on our environment. The energy taken from the sun is renewable. This makes it a very green alternative to using up city power. Chargers come in a variety of forms. Some are flexible enough to be rolled up while others can be folded into more storable sizes. Other chargers are capable of being installed into a home or vehicle.
